The Article

Kate on her naturally close relationship with fiance Michael Polish:

"Michael and I had such an effortless artistic relationship,' she explained. I felt this joy that I had found a director I wanted to continue to work with. I am so blessed. I have my best friend and my lover—but also my mentor."

Michael Polish on directing "Big Sur' - which stars Kate:

"I thought it was incredibly ambitious to translate Kerouac cinematically, but I was also quite terrified of the role. The dialogue is word-for-word from the book, not a normal cadence— no grammar, no start and stop to sentences. It felt a little Shakespearean in the way I had to figure out how to make it accessible."
