Kate Beckinsale shoping in Santa Monica

"Bringing the family along for some retail therapy, Kate Beckinsale went to Planet Blue in Santa Monica on Wednesday (October 17).

The "Underworld" star wore a short-sleeved white top, jeans, and beige heels while hubby Len Wiseman and daughter Lily tagged along beside her.

After showing off her action flick skills in "Total Recall," the 39-year-old actress will put on a pantsuit in "The Trials of Cate McCall." Kate will play the title character, a former hotshot lawyer, now in recovery and estranged from her family. In order to be reinstated at the bar and recover custody of her daughter, she must take on the appeal of a woman wrongfully convicted of murder.

Joining the British beauty in the legal drama will be Taye Diggs, Isaiah Washington, and Nick Nolte. No release date has been set yet."
