"Members of Hollywood's elite gathered at the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA for the Environmental Media Awards on Saturday (September 29), to celebrate those among them most committed to protecting the environment.
Malin Akerman, Jessica Alba, and Ian Somerhalder were at the top of the guest list, especially when it came time to hand out the accolades. Jessica was given with the EMA Green Parent Award for her work, while Ian proudly received the EMA Futures Award
Though Alba and Somerhalder were honorees at the event, newly pregnantAkerman was the main spectacle of the show, as she took the stage.
Seemingly a bit of nervous for her performance, Malin tweeted earlier in the day: “EMA Awards Tonight 6PM @green4ema http://on.fb.me/nj3yi0 #2012EMA. Streaming live on http://eonline.com . I'm gonna be singing...Yikes!”
Other famous faces turning up for the earth-friendly function included Julie Bowen, Emily VanCamp, Paula Abdul, Torrey Devitto, Jessica Capshaw, Jessica Szohr, James Van Der Beek, Amy Smart, Kat Graham, Daryl Hannah and Wilmer Valderrama.
According to the foundation’s website, “The annual EMA Awards honor film and television personalities, productions, musicians and musical tours that convey environmental messages in the most creative and influential ways.”
In the past, other entertainment industry heavyweights earn top honors include Justin Timberlake, Pierce Brosnan and John Travolta. All three have received special recognition for their impressive efforts to help get our global climate back on track.
